About us

AchieveTogether is project to help people solve complicated health problems, using two main functions: First, it will help people to identify and adopt "habits" that have helped people like them to change a behavior (e.g., weight loss) or to better control an illness (e.g., diabetes). Second, it will allow patients to become part of a small group of similar individuals who support each other, provide each other accountability, help each other solve problems and who are supported by a successful volunteer "coach" who provides the same support. The intervention is being developed for weight loss and asthma and a grant is under review to extend this to diabetes. Current grant funding for the project is from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Penn State University, the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. For any inquiries, please email Dr. Heather Stuckey (hls119@psu.edu).
